Amrut is the first single malt whisky to be made in India, Amrut is a Sanskrit word which can be translated as "nectar of the gods", "nectar of life", or "drink of the gods". To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Amrut Fusion is one of the pioneering Indian single malt whisky distillery's greatest ever successes, and has been astonishing whisky fans at blind tastings for over a decade now.Now the brand is available in over 20 countries, and has been gaining much acclaim and many awards since. Amrut strived to provide a better product that would meet global requirements and employed the help of whisky experts from Scotland to perfect the processes. This whisky is made from selected Indian barley grown at the feet of the Himalayas, nurtured by the waters flowing there and cultivated by old and traditional agricultural practices. Amrut mainly uses American white oak casks, but since the distillery has garnered in international reputation and the demand has risen, they have also started to use sherry casks and other types of casks.

Distilled in the 'plant capital' of Bangalore, each unit is matured in American Oak Barrels and filtered straight into the bottles to sustain its natural flavour and colour. On the nose this spectacular whisky offers up notes of heavy oak, barley sugar and some subtle smoke characters that play ever so well with amazingly complex flavours like custard cream, toffee and dried fruits. Definite barley and honey, a little bit of spice with an almost apple cider finish that quickly disappates and I'm left with just pure honey coating the inside of my mouth.
