Not surprisingly for a commentary running nearly four hours in length, this conversation with Behlmar is startlingly comprehensive. A love story on the backdrop of the American Civil War and Reconstruction, high drama from the book of the same title by Margaret Mitchell.

Perhaps the most intriguing inclusion here is an expansive selection of screentests, most memorably a Technicolor test with Paulette Goddard reading both Scarlett and Mammy. This really is a spectacular package, although the extras on the discs themselves aren't quite as expansive or diverse as those on The Wizard of Oz. Gone With The Wind DVD [2001] DescriptionThis sweeping Civil War-era romance won an impressive 10 Academy Awards ( including best picture ), and it's immortal characters Scarlett, Rhett, Ashley, Melanie, Mammy and Prissy populate an epic story of enduring appeal across generations. The playbill is also handsomely illustrated and includes lovingly painted renditions of the primary cast. Hattie McDaniel took home a well-deserved Academy Award -- the first for an African-American -- for her work here as Mammy.

Inexplicably, the mono track is hidden under the 'Special Features' menu, the same as it is with Oz. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Considering the daunting runtime of Gone with the Wind, Warner has wisely decided to devote as much of the BD-50's bit budget to the movie as possible, so the first disc in this set only features one extra. This 1992 documentary is divided into three segments, each hosted by a deliriously over-the-top Patrick Stewart. com, the Sell on Etsy app, and the Etsy app, as well as the electricity that powers Etsy’s global offices and employees working remotely from home in the US. What continues to marvel me about Gone with the Wind is how it's so deftly able to convey such a sprawling, epic scope without losing sight of the intimate drama between its characters.

This exclusive 2004 documentary includes Olivia’s memories which are so vivid and detailed that it’s as if it was only yesterday as opposed to 1939! A lesser film would've leaned on the sheer spectacle as a crutch; Selznick, meanwhile, views it as a means to an end. One mustn't forget that because it isn't a story about the Civil War; it is a story about love and loss set in a time of Civil War and one that is largely stripped of any reality.

The third disc in the set is a double-sided DVD featuring When the Lion Roars, a gargantuan six-hour documentary that chronicles the rise and fall of MGM. Look for it only in books, for it is no more than a dream remembered, a Civilization gone with the wind. Along with the colossal success of Gone with the Wind, "Scarlett and Beyond" touches on her earlier British films as well as more recognizable titles like Waterloo Bridge, Caesar and Cleopatra, and Ship of Fools.Turning off the personalized advertising setting won’t stop you from seeing Etsy ads, but it may make the ads you see less relevant or more repetitive. From the aristocratic old world of Tara to the horrors of Atlanta under siege, Gone with the Wind features any number of indelible scenes and images: the genteel girls taking an enforced siesta during the Twelve Oaks barbecue, a horrified Scarlett walking through the wounded, the flight from burning Atlanta, and Scarlett's moving pledge against a burnished sunset set to Max Steiner's glorious music score. When she finally realizes what and who are truly important to her, the damage has already been done. Even though his comments had clearly been prepared in advance, Behlmar is personable enough that this commentary never feels as if he's simply reading pages of notes in front of him verbatim.
