For something a bit different you could go for this Asdado insulated cool bag that also transforms into a BBQ stand for a disposable BBQ! If you need a proper cooker to do this though, be sure to check out our guide on camping stoves and kettles. You either plug the box into your car (12V), the most common type of charger, or into the mains by a UK plug. Electric Cool Boxes work like a mini fridge and are heavier than a passive cool box due to the motor and leads, so generally they are not great for picnics. However, the IceQ states it is 20°C below ambient temperatures, which I have not noticed any difference.

Cooler bags generally don't have these but do have side compartments and mesh pockets for organisation. On its warming and cooling capabilities, the lowest the fridge can go is 3°C, while the highest is 65°C. One way around this is to purchase an electric cool box which will operate on either mains hookup or a 12V source such as a car battery or power pack to cool your goods down to the optimum storage temperature. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. However, they produce exceptional chilling and can have the temperature adjusted accurately using a thermostat. The retro look is available in a number of sorbet shades and can hold up to 20 litres, proving it’s not just a pretty face.

Other reasons you may like this cool box is the fan is quieter than most and the box has a triple A rating for efficiency. Since getting the Aldi electric coolbox, I have often wodered about it's claimed 18Deg below ambient tempreture spec. It will prolong the life of the cool box and prevent the motor from burning out quickly due to overworking. Vonshef actually suggest 12°C as the minimum temperature which is way off from where we would prefer to be – around 5-6°C.Three-Way Fridge – not the name of your favourite ‘exotic’ film, but rather a description of the expensive absorption coolers which can run on gas cannisters, 12V and 240V. The main problem with this is that once you take the two cables from the space in the lid, you are very unlikely to get them back in again. Dining outdoors in summer means careful consideration of the menu: namely, what travels well and can be eaten, for most part, mess free.

SPACIOUS - Versatile, spacious and portable, this Hi-Gear camping cool box, with a generous 28 litre capacity, will keep your food and drink at the perfect temperature on long car journeys, staycations and camping trips. Both cords to plug in to either socket or car cigarett lighter pack neatly away in the lid and it seems very spacious inside. Remember that the weight of the box itself is only of partial consideration – it’s how heavy it will be when filled to the brim with grub and champers! The handle is longer on one side, allowing you to pull easily, especially with the wheels on the opposite side. It does pretty much everything you need from a thermoelectric cooler as well as looking stylish in its grey, white and green colours. As mentioned in the other reviews from people yes the cables are a nightmare to get back into their little compartment, hence the 4 stars and not 5 from me.
