The L'Oreal Pro Glow foundation is a great example of how much later new makeup launches in Australia, compared to the US.

The radiant yet lightweight formula promises to stay in place for up to 24 hours - which is a real rarity for a glow-y foundation - without drying out the skin. Now obviously, one is a matte finish and the other is a radiant finish but I figure I would show you the difference in consistency and color, so lets get started. Mine is normal to dry at the moment and I found the last good with only minimal fading towards the end of the day. With it freshly applied I’d say I’m more of a 205 and naturally without definitely one of the paler shades. When I wear foundation, I normally moisturize heavily because I have extremely dry skin and if I want my foundations to look good from day’s start to day’s end that’s what I need to do. It is also an emulsion stabilizer in water-in-oil emulsions, where water droplets are dispersed in the continuous oil phase and not the other way round. I honestly had very low expectations for the Pro-Glow foundation, even more so when I saw the ingredients include talc, silica, alcohol and dimethicone. Today I will be reviewing and comparing the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundationand the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation.

The innovative oxygen technology gives a lightweight feel whilst the ultra - stretchable formula ensures full coverage application - so a little goes a long way. Personally, I can’t get away with using a simple moisturizer like Cetaphil alone with any foundation because my skin will be completely dried out by midday which causes my foundations to look powdery. I have to mix 2 together to have a foundation that is close, and previously I haven’t found a product that I liked enough to do that. With the removal of excess air and water, products require less packaging and become more efficient to dispatch. Not only does a damp beautyblender sheer out the coverage of foundations but it takes more time than a brush because I need to build the coverage back up to the level that I want.

A glycerin derived, synthetic oily liquid that is also water soluble and works as a great skin moisturizer. I can literally hear the foundation sloshing around in the tube when I shake it, that’s how runny it is. You can usually find it right in the very first spot of the ingredient list, meaning it’s the biggest thing out of all the stuff that makes up the product.

It appears neutral with perhaps a hint of yellow but as I rub the foundation into my skin you can really start to see the pinkness of the foundation coming forth.I have mixed feelings about it because it provides full coverage and it looks great in pictures, but up close it does get cakey!

Yes – definitely gives luminosity that doesn’t come from shine and yet, it feels smooth and hydrating which is quite spectacular in terms of formulation technique; it’s a fine line between dewy and shiny. Overall : You can compare apples to oranges obviously, but if you are like me and like both matte and dewy foundations I thought this would be helpful. Our social channels are bursting with cheap, chic makeup offers, ensuring you never miss out on a luxury steal. It also has an SPF 15 which is better than nothing too and suited to dry skin, which would make sense why I like it.

Well as you can see in the swatch above the Pro Matte is a little darker and has more of a yellow undertone, where the Pro Glow is more of a lighter neutral undertone. The amount of glow that you can achieve with this foundation is entirely dependent on your skin care and natural skin type but I would say the baseline for me is a soft matte which I can build from. I love the finish that this has on the skin, it makes my skin look like it has a glow from within and while it does have a glow to it, it doesn't look dewy on the skin which I am a huge fan of! Concealer is needed to fully cover blemishes, but that isn't a big deal as I don't go for full coverage foundations generally.
