When she finds out that she has inherited a house in the country, it seems like a great new start for her and her two children. I have loved reading most of Jojo Moyes’ previous books but I found this one rather disappointing, quite run of the mill. Her books include the bestsellers The Girl You Left Behind , The One Plus One , Me Before You and After You and her short story collection Paris for One and Other Stories . Her novels have been translated into forty-four languages, have hit the number one spot in twelve countries and have sold over thirty-eight million copies worldwide.

The story has some ups and downs, personal growth, a little bit of sex, manipulation, lies, family secrets and problems just to name a few of the themes within the book. So I’m sticking with my three still poignant, heartfelt story with resonating characters deserved better ending stars! Dar când soțul ei moare într-un accident, Isabel trebuie să învețe să fie mamă și să se descurce fără niciun sprijin, într-un fiasco financiar. Out of the blue, she inherits a rundown property in the countryside, the Spanish House, from a distant relative and uproots her family to live there.

I wasn't sure what to expect, typical, predictable chick-lit, or something with more depth, and I got the latter. I feel like most of us know people like this, and it’s a reminder that you never know what people are going through. Her 15 years old Kitty misses her friends from her old place and Thierry is still keeping his silence after dealing with tragedy of losing his father. I think Moyes’ fans will lap it up and it will hopefully bring a lot more new readers to her fan base. Isabel Delancey finds herself in dire straits when she realizes that her money is running out, and with two children to support, she has to face some harsh realities.

I love Jojo Moyes, her books are always really different from each other and her style is so easy to follow, it is like getting into your comfy slippers. So, if you're looking for a book settled in English countryside talking about people fighting over an old mansion, you can give this one a shot.for me this time, I will definitely read more by Jojo Moyes, I have read most of them already and look forward to her next. Una historia preciosa, que sorprende por sus giros, con una MARAVILLOSA construcción de personajes (Isabel, mi favorita) y con un final original e inesperado. However Matt isn't about to let his dream go and soon puts his plan into action, with consequences that change the lives of everyone.

Quietly compelling, I enjoyed the array of characters and drama surrounding them and found Moyes' writing as beautiful as ever. Two men who each like her - one is wealthy, sleeps around and doesnt care about his family, the other is the strong silent type who obviously has a past. All Isabel ever wanted to do was devote her life to her music, but now with her husband gone, she has to try to provide for her children.

While I didn't like Isabel or Matt - both we're a bit too one-dimensional - the rest of the characters, from Byron to Kitty to the Cousins, seemed more interesting and likeable. Recently widowed after her husband died in a horrific car accident, Isabel has really been struggling. A talented violinist Isabel and also widow inherits a dilapidated house named Spanish house at the close knit country village , moving there with her two kids after she’s suffering from the trauma to lose her husband at tragic traffic accident. The secondary characters in this book (many of them with occasional points of view,) were wonderful to read. She doesn’t have enough money to cover these expenses so she needs advise of the wrong man/ her neighbor, local builder Matt who has true vendetta against her because he thinks he deserves to be the real owner of the place with his wife Laura.
