About this deal

With Brilliant Color on, color brightness is only 46% of white, so there is some loss of color saturation. During his third year at the New England Conservatory of Music, he won a position with the West Point Band where he served for 26 years as principal bassoonist. The TK800 comes in an easy to transport box with a carrying handle, power cable, and backlit remote control and batteries — nice for adjusting controls in dark rooms. It’s worth noting that there is no vertical or horizontal lens shifting, image adjustment is limited to three rubber feet (one on the front and two on the rear) of the projector for anyone not mounting the projector.

In fact we’d go as far as to say that the BenQ is best suited to rooms with light colored walls because when we actually installed the projector in our dedicated home cinema, problems with light spill were more obvious. A 5-watt amplifier drives the speaker, while custom-tuned sound modes and exclusive EQ algorithms enhance the sound quality even further. The BENQ TK800 generic lamp with housing includes generic plastic housing and a generic bulb from an authorised manufacturer of generic lamps. Budget DLPs like the TK800 save on cost by throttling the bulb to increase contrast rather than including an additional mechanism in the light path. We enjoyed this feature, as it enabled us to place the projector a bit closer to the screen in our cramped basement — we got a 100-inch, 16:9 picture at a little over 12 feet from the screen. To fully enjoy the beautiful game at football parties in a bright living room or backyard BBQ a huge 100+ projected 4K UHD 8. The onboard audio system on most projectors is a joke, but BenQ has devoted some attention to it in the TK800M. That’s a huge figure by affordable movie PJ standards, and could really open
up the TK800’s HDR potential. It was like the gods of fate had swept us up into their arms and tenderly kissed our foreheads when BenQ’s TK800 True 4K HDR projector arrived just in time for this year’s FIFA World Cup. The TK800 is the latest budget 4K Ultra HD single-chip DLP projector which is being marketed as a home entertainment and sports model.

With a solid warranty and up to 15,000 hours of lamp life, the TK800 should last you through years of steady use. We managed to get rid of the obvious yellow tint to images though and greys did look more natural than out of the box. On the debit side, the black level and the shadow detail are both poor, but that will be less of an issue in a room with ambient light.

This is where the TK800 has been designed to shine (pun intended) and it does so as you would expect. Where the HT2550 boasts a reasonable 2,200 lumens of brightness, the TK800 offers a significantly brighter 3000 lumens, easily making it the go-to option in rooms where ambient light may be more of an issue. Even in bright conditions it can produce a display of around 100 inches in a modest-sized room, though this can stretch to a whopping BOO inches larger rooms.
