Has anyone found that when using this multi-tool by Bosch that the screw that holds blades has a tendency to work loose when being used? The result of that was that I had to use the apex sanding attachment to get some of the mitres to join correctly and that was a somewhat laborious process.

Finally, each new sanding sheet somehow damages the pad, after a dozen or so sheets the pad is pretty much ruined. br/>The PMF 180 is in no way a white elephant if you need to plunge cut a socket box into the side of a kitchen cabinet or remove a section of skirting boards that are heavily fixed to the wall!

I would recommend using ear plugs or ear muffs when your cutting though as it is a little loud, although it can be tolerated without for periods of time.

Its sturdy construction, combined with its soft grip handle and high idle speed, make it a reliable and versatile choice for various projects. I have used for several other DIY tasks over the last year and was using to dismantle some cladding from a shed roof when the tool suddenly stopped and wouldn't start. I have used the small wood saw attachment to cut through the skirting boards in my house (I was installing some built in robes) and through the cornice as well. This skirting needed cutting so that the unit (just to right of picture) could be fitted flush against the wall. Because the blade will not rotate at high speed and there is no hidden danger of cracking and splashing, it is very safe to use.

Changing the blade on the Bosch PMF 180 E is relatively easy, unplug the machine so that it is not accidentally switched on and then unscrew the socket head bolt, using the Allen key wrench provided.Having seen some other online reviews, like on this webpage, indicates possibly (in my opinion) either a poorly designed circuit or there is a poor quality component on it. Needed to carefully scrape the insulation with a scalpel, tin the wire and add a short piece of thin wire to remake the connection. Now that the laminate has warmed up it has expanded and requires trimming as it is too close to the central heating pipe. First, for grinding, there is a 93mm triangular back liner, which uses all grades of "Velcro" molding sanding plate.

With a weight of 1200 grams, it provides a solid and sturdy feel, ensuring stability during operation. My wife got me one of these for Xmas 2011, in April 2012 the switch broke and Bosch collected it for repair. So this tool is of great help to all those who are engaged in the housing construction industry or amateurs who love it. I’ve had plenty of time to experiment and what I’ve noticed is that if you push very firmly the fuzz doesn’t get ripped off any where nearly as fast as if you just lightly touch the sander to the work. We unfortunatley killed one of the velcro pads as we were overusing the sandpaper and not changing it over often enough but got a new one fairly cheaply which was good.Dismantled it to find brushes not worn out but in poor condition a small carbon disk from god knows where. I found the speed dial on the rear very useful in controlling both sanding and cutting when using the tool and found the weight and size of the tool fit into my hands nicely. To make things worse half the fuzz ends up stuck to the pad which then has to be pulled off by hand or the next sheet won’t stick properly.
