In fact, Vainqueur comes to consider Victor the crown jewel of his hoard. So he demands Victor to become immortal so Vainqueur can keep him forever. When Victor is killed and inflicted with Necrophobia to prevent his resurrection, Vainqueur sacrifices his entire hoard of gold without hesitation to get Shesha to revive Victor. Since the fairy obviously controlled his puppet with his pipe, the dragon turned to the dreadful musician’s direction and shot a fireball at him. Once again, the Runemaster shielded him and the other annoyances with a barrier. This book pulled me in right from the very beginning. Once I started it, it was hard for me to put it down and I listened to it in every free moment I had. The story line was amazing and the narrator did a great job. Likewise in contrast to the immortal dragon, is the rather squishy minion Victor. A mortal from our world, who still wants to go home, but now finds himself as the chief minion and second in the foodchain (an important place to be) to Vainqueur. He is a character in direct juxtaposition and serves to balance and showcase the dragon, at the same time he too begins to learn his place in the world and grow.
